Your 3-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga kicks off early in the morning, heading east past charming suburban towns towards the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll make several stops to capture photos, soak in the picturesque scenery, stretch our legs, and enjoy a cup of coffee.
Driving uphill on winding roads, we’ll reach the renowned Tizi Ntichka pass before arriving at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – a captivating Berber fortified village and a UNESCO-listed gem famously featured in Hollywood epics such as Kingdom of Heaven, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator. Take your time to explore the village at your leisure, and if you desire a local guide, they can be found on-site.
Following a leisurely lunch at one of the local cafes, our journey continues to Dades Valley, passing through Ouarzazate, Skoura Oasis, and Klaa Mgouna – renowned for its rosewater distillation factories and known as the valley of roses.
Upon reaching Boumalne Dades, we’ll trace the Dades River along a scenic route, passing by various fortified Kasbahs nestled along the roadside on our way to the enchanting Dades Canyons. As the afternoon draws to a close, we’ll arrive at our comfortable Dades hotel.

Following breakfast at your Dades Valley hotel, embark on a captivating journey along the Road of 1001 Kasbahs to the serene Tinghir oasis. There, we’ll take a detour onto a minor road that traces the river, leading us to the remarkable Todgha Gorges. Pause for a relaxing walk amidst the palm trees in the oasis before exploring the awe-inspiring expanse of the towering cliffs.
Lunch will be at your leisure in a local café, allowing you to savor the surroundings. In the early afternoon, we’ll head to Rissani, renowned for its vibrant dates market and historical significance as a starting point for ancient trading caravans venturing across the Sahara to Tombouctou. After a brief stop, our journey continues through rocky desert landscapes as we approach Merzouga.
Arriving at the Palais Des Dunes lodge, you’ll have the chance to refresh yourself with a dip in their invigorating pool before preparing for an unforgettable desert trek to the camp at sunset.
Meet our friendly camel caravan and ride through the mesmerizing color-changing dunes, with the setting sun painting the horizon in breathtaking hues. Before darkness falls, we’ll reach our Sahara desert camp, surrounded by the captivating landscape.
Take some time to immerse yourself in the beauty of the sand dunes and the tranquil ambiance. As night descends, anticipate a delightful Moroccan dinner served under the twinkling stars, next to a warm campfire.
